Missed the Boat Again!

I started to make this card last week using the lovely rose bouquet digi stamp from Glitterbabe for I Did It Creations to enter their challenge. As often happens with me, the challenge was over before the card was finished.

I coloured the image with copics and added glossy accents to the wrapper to try & make it look like cellophane (not sure this worked as well as I expected) I also glossed the centres of the roses as florists now like to add a gem don't they? I edged the die cut with some delicate pink glitter chalk. The backing papers are MME Quite Contrary and Co-ordinations Gemstones card with a Craftworks pink sentiment enhanced by two tiny ribbon butterflys. I cut the fancy photo corners with my MS corner punch and added a bit of bling to them and the ribbon round the flowers.

As luck would have it by the time my card was done the lovely Caroline had set a Flower challenge on MSE so for once I would be in time.

I would like to enter this card into the following

MSE - Flower Challenge
Craft Your Days Away - Anything Goes
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Something New - (the digi image)
Creative Craft World - Anything Goes
Flutterby Wednesday Challenge - Butterfly Fairy or Angel
Stamp Challenge Blog - Use A Digi
Kaboodle Doodles - Do it with Digis

Thank you for taking the time to look.

My First Card Make of 2011

What is it about my family birthdays that makes them all come at once? I have 3 on consecutive days in August and the rest are bunched in November December and January and by the time the last couple come along I'm running our of design ideas. The images have been made easy by LOTV and the hobbies of the recipients, but how to make then look different without flowers ribbons etc? I was lucky with this card, I spotted a sketch on Cards for Men - so I went for it!

The image is a cute LOTV fisherman, the backing paper Cosmo Cricket Earth Love, the tree paper is from SU, the dark green leaf paper is Papermania Secret Garden. I made a double frame for the picture to give a bit of depth and added some Craftwork card candy to the (not quite matching) swirls on the tree paper. I made my own sentiment on the PC and backed it with Hobbycraft *matt gold mirri* to match the base layer of backing paper.
* is that a contradiction of terms?!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Cards for Men - Sketch
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - Celebrate Something
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes

Now, I can't wait to do something pink & girly!
Thank you for looking
